So, to recap, nicer graphics, backgrounds and in-game displays that now make me want to vomit, FPS issues also exist so wait to pick this one up on sale. The game itself is unchanged from the previous port, so there's no new content, unfortunately. The over-world and battle tracks, however, are largely untouched. Some tracks are more robust for lack of a better word. The soundtrack and SFX got a bit of a makeover. This last one should have been a slam dunk, but whether due to technical difficulties or oversight, it's now an air ball. Some in-game menus like the school terminal are also at their original resolutions, so this makes for a rather painful experience trying to read menus originally rendered at 640x480. Graphically, the animated models and the FMVs are updated to HD resolution, but the game itself is still in 4:3, the models and textures for backgrounds are at their original resolution (so it looks like a game where characters from a 2014 AAA title are running around in a blurry Playstation 1 environment), and the 3D animations themselves are at their original state so some actions (like Cid's speech in the first part of the game) look choppy.
